Each day you will be given a reading assignment. After reading the assigned portion record any observations or questions that come to mind.

PRAYER STARTER

Each Day you will be given a prayer starter. This is designed to help you begin your daily prayer to God.

 

Day 1

Read: Exodus 19:1-6

Prayer starter: Thanksgiving.

God reminded the Israelites of what He had already done for them. As you begin to pray think of what God has already done for you and thank Him.

 

Day 2

Read: Exodus 19:7-25

Prayer starter: Petition.

God revealed something about Himself to the Israelites at Mount Sinai. As you begin to pray ask God to reveal something about Himself to you.

 

Day 3

Read: Exodus 20:1-17

Prayer starter: Confession.

Reading through the Ten commandments should cause you to realizethat you are guilty of breaking God's commands. As you begin to pray confess your sins to God.

 

Day 4

Read: Exodus 20:18-26

Prayer starter: Intercession

The people were terrified of God so Moses spoke to Him for them. As you begin to pray think of someone who may be afraid of God and pray to God about that person.

 

Day 5

Read: Deuteronomy 5:1-21

Prayer starter: Commitment

God gave the Ten Commandments as a standard by which His people should live. As you begin to pray make a commitment to live according to God's rules.

 

Day 6

Read: Deuteronomy 5:22-33

Prayer starter: Praise

The Israelites got to see God's majesty and glory. As you begin to pray focus on the majesty of God and praise His name.
