GOD THE SPIRIT DOC 3 February 2-7 2006 Memorize Romans 8:16 The Spirit Himself testifies with Our spirit that we are God's children. Directions READ AND RECORD Each day you will be given a reading assignment. After reading the assigned portion record any observations or questions that come to mind. PRAYER STARTER Each Day you will be given a prayer starter. This is designed to help you begin your daily prayer to God.
Day 1 Read: John 14:15-27 Prayer starter: Thanksgiving We do not face the world alone and helpless as orphans. As you begin to pray thank God that His Holy Spirit lives in the heart of every believer.
Day 2 Read: John 16:5-15 Prayer starter: Praise The Holy Spirit is God's presence in your life. As you begin to pray realize God is with you and spend some time just telling Him how great He is.
Day 3 Read: Romans 8:1-17 Prayer starter: Intercession The Holy Spirit reaches out to the lost and leads those who are willing to salvation. As you begin to pray share with God a burden you have for someone you know is lost.
Day 4 Read: I Corinthians 2:6-16 Prayer starter: Petition The Holy Spirit will teach believers the very wisdom of God. As you begin to pray ask God to reveal to you more of His wisdom.
Day 5 Read: Galatians 5:16-26 Prayer starter: Confession You will produce fruit whether you are controlled by the Spirit or by your flesh. As you begin to pray confess to God those times in your life when your flesh has taken control.
Day 6 Read: Ephesians 5:15-21 Prayer starter: Commitment To be filled with the Spirit is to be controlled by the Spirit of God. As you begin to pray make a commitment to allow God's Spirit to control over your life and your decisions.
Extra Credit Read what the Prophet Joel had to say about the Spirit of God. Joel 2:28-29 Read about being the temple of God's Spirit. Corinthians 6:18-20.
