Each day you will be given a reading assignment. After reading the assigned portion record any observations or questions that come to mind.

PRAYER STARTER

Each Day you will be given a prayer starter. This is designed to help you begin your daily prayer to God.

 

Day 1

Read: The introduction to Exodus p. 83

Prayer starter: Thanksgiving.

The book of Exodus tells the story of how God delivered the nation of Israel out of slavery. As you begin to pray thank God for rescuing you out of slavery to sin.

 

Day 2

Read: Exodus 16:1-36

Prayer starter: Petition.

God was able to provide food each day for 2 million people. As you begin to pray ask God to provide for a need that you have and believe He is able to meet that need.

 

Day 3

Read: Exodus 17:1-16

Prayer starter: Intercession

Aaron and Hur held up Moses' arms during this battle. As you begin to pray ask God to give you the opportunity to help someone in their ministry.

 

Day 4

Read: Exodus 23:1-33

Prayer starter: Confession

God gave Israel many laws to obey. You are expected to obey God as well. As you begin to pray confess those times you have failed to obey and ask God for forgiveness.

 

Day 5

Read: Exodus 24:1-18

Prayer starter: Commitment

The Israelites made this commitment "Everything the Lord has said we will do". As you begin to pray make a similar commitment to God.

 

Day 6

Read: Exodus 40:1-38

Prayer starter: Praise

God's glory filled the Tabernacle and the Israelites knew that God was present. As you begin to pray realize God is present with you and spend time telling Him how great He is.
